Jumbo Evans Sports Park

The Spring Branch Jumbo Evans Sports Park Fund* purchased 10 tables and 5 BBQ pits from the New Braunfels High School Ag Dept. The Spring Branch Jumbo Evans Sports Park Fund* is a non-profit Corporation, not affiliated with Comal County, that raises money and acquires donations from local patrons to help develop the 46 acre park in Spring Branch. Jim Tucker, NB Ag Teacher, mixing the concrete for the 5 new BBQ pits installed at The Spring Branch Jumbo Evans Sports Park. The Ag Dept also installed 5 newly built picnic tables.

J.L. “Jumbo” Evans served as a Comal County Commissioner for fifteen years from 1981 through 1996. Commissioner Evans was a retired United States Air Force Colonel, having served 31 years, and was an active resident of Comal County from 1963 to his death in 1999.
